Wir, das Erasmus-Team der Zentraleinrichtung Sprachenzentrum, möchten uns auf dieser Seite bei euch vorstellen. Wir sind für diejenigen von euch zuständig, die übers Sprachenzentrum an die FU gekommen sind und unterstützen euch bei diversen Fragen und Problemen während eures Erasmus-Aufenthaltes.

Dokumente

Die für euch verantwortliche Person an der FU ist die Direktorin des Sprachenzentrums, Frau Dr. Ruth Tobias. Manche eurer Dokumente müssen deshalb von ihr unterschrieben werden. Schickt uns diese bitte per E-Mail (erasmus@sprachenzentrum.fu-berlin.de). Es gibt auch Dokumente, um die sich ausschließlich das Zentrale Erasmus-Büro kümmert. Hier eine Übersicht über alle Zuständigkeiten.

Im Zentralen Erasmus-Büro abzugeben:

• Confirmation of Stay (Confirmation of Arrival, Certificate of Arrival, Certificate of Stay, etc.)

Bei uns im Erasmus-Büro des Sprachenzentrums abzugeben:

• Learning Agreement (und Änderungen daran)
• Antrag auf ein Transcript of Records

Ausstellung eures Transcript of Records

Um nach Beendigung eures Studiums an der FU ein Transcript of Records zu erhalten, gebt bitte alle eure Scheine bei uns ab. Zusätzlich benötigen wir folgenden Antrag auf Englisch oder Deutsch:

Persönliche Ansprechpartnerinnen

Falls ihr spezielle Fragen habt, könnt ihr euch auch an die persönlichen Ansprechpartnerinnen für die jeweiligen Partnerhochschulen wenden.

Kurswahl

Alle an der FU angebotenen Kurse findet ihr online im Vorlesungsverzeichnis. Dieses erscheint immer 1-2 Monate vor Beginn der Vorlesungszeit. Auf der Seite könnt ihr das entsprechende Semester sowie euer Institut auswählen.

Wie viele ECTS-Punkte bekomme ich für meine Kurse?

Wenn ihr an einem vollständigen Modul (z.B. ein Seminar und eine Vorlesung) teilnehmt, findet ihr die Anzahl der Punkte für das Modul in der jeweiligen Studienordnung. Die Studienordnungen kann man sich auf den Seiten der Institute herunterladen. Solltet ihr jedoch nur einen Teil eines Moduls besuchen wollen, wird es komplizierter. Sprecht in diesem Fall am besten im Voraus mit dem Dozenten / der Dozentin über die Punkte, die ihr dafür bekommt.

Sprachkurse

Ihr könnt an den Sprachkursen des Sprachenzentrums teilnehmen. Vor der Anmeldung müsst ihr allerdings einen Einstufungstest absolvieren. Achtung: Die Einstufungstests finden meist ein bis zwei Wochen vor Semesterbeginn statt! Da ihr sie nicht nachholen könnt, informiert euch hier über die Testtermine, um sie nicht zu verpassen. Für Englisch wird ein besonderer Termin nur für Erasmus-Studierende angeboten.

Welcome at the FU Berlin!

As the Erasmus team of the Language Centre we would like to introduce ourselves to you and give you an overview of our responsibilities. We are your responsible team if your Host Institution is the Language Centre of the Free University Berlin. If you should have any questions or problems during your Erasmus stay, we are here to help you. You can contact us per E-mail (erasmus@sprachenzentrum.fu-berlin.de) or we can arrange a virtual meeting.

Documents

Your supervisor at the FU Language Centre is Dr. Ruth Tobias, the director of the Language Centre. Please send any documents requiring her signature directly to our E-Mail address (erasmus@sprachenzentrum.fu-berlin.de). Some documents must be signed and controlled by the Student Exchange Office. Here is an overview of all responsibilities:

In order to obtain a Transcript of Records following your exchange, please send us an E-Mail containing all course certificates plus a completed copy of the application form, which can be found here:

Tutors

If you have questions specifically related to your home university, feel free to contact the responsible tutor of the Language Centre.

How to choose a course

You can find all FU courses online in the course catalogue. The catalogue is usually published 1-2 months before the semester starts. Just choose the relevant semester (e.g. summer term 2016) and the faculty and institute of your choice (e.g. “Philosophie und Geisteswissenschaften” / “Institut für Romanische Philologie”).

How many ECTS credits do I get for my courses?

If you participate in a complete module (e.g. one lecture + one seminar), you can find the amount of ECTS for the module in the respective study regulations document. The study regulations are accessible on each institute’s website. If you attend only one part of a module (e.g. only the lecture), ask the professor about the amount of credits you can receive for it.

Language courses

You are welcome to apply for the language courses offered by the Language Centre, but only upon completion of a Language Assessment test, which evaluates the level of your existing language skills. The tests always take place one or two weeks before the semester starts. Please keep that in mind and plan to arrive in Berlin on time! You won’t be able to access any language course without doing the test!

Pay attention: if you want to join an English course, you have to do a separate English test reserved for Erasmus students.
