Preparatory German Language Programme
Freie Universität Berlin offers a preparatory German language programme every spring and autumn for students participating in mobility and exchange programmes.
The programme is a six-week intensive language class, which will allow students who have been admitted to Freie Universität Berlin to effectively improve their German language skills before they begin their studies here.
The programme
-
is primarily designed for students participating in mobility and exchange programmes (such as Erasmus+, Fulbright, DAAD or Direct Exchange) here at Freie Universität Berlin. However, other students are also welcome to attend.
-
consists of intensive language classes at five different levels, anchored in the proficiency levels described in the Common European Framework (CEFR), developed by the Council of Europe.
-
takes place every spring and autumn in the six weeks preceding the start of the summer and winter semesters respectively.
-
combines intensive language training, designed to enhance students’ study ability at the university, with a well-rounded cultural programme.
-
is administered by the Language Centre of Freie Universität Berlin, in cooperation with ERG Universitätsservice GmbH.
Participants with prior knowledge of German will be allocated to the different courses (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1) using the online onSET-Deutsch placement test before the start of the programme and further tests on the first day of the course.
